FAQ

Common questions about Interactive Brokers imports, local storage, licensing, and how SimpleTradeLog works.

What brokers do you support?

Today: SimpleTradeLog is built for Interactive Brokers trade reports via .tlg and activity statement .csv. Other exports (like .ofx/.qfx) aren’t supported yet.

Where is my trading data stored?

Locally on your machine. Trades and deposits/withdrawals are stored on your computer and are not uploaded to our servers. Your account, license status, and billing state are handled by the API.

Which platforms are supported?

macOS and Windows.

Which languages are available?

The desktop app supports English, German, and French.

How do AI Insights work?

If you already have Claude CLI or Codex CLI installed and signed in, SimpleTradeLog can use your own local CLI to review selected realized trades and suggest patterns, playbooks, and daily risk rules. SimpleTradeLog does not bundle an AI provider or send trades to our servers for this feature.

Does net P&L include fees?

Yes. Realized performance metrics are computed from the trades you import and include fees.

How long is the free trial?

14 days. You can evaluate the full app before subscribing.

What does it cost?

€59.99 per year, per machine. One plan. No tiers.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can manage or cancel your subscription from the customer portal.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can export a backup JSON from inside the app and import it later (for example when moving to a new computer).

Is this fully offline?

No. Your trades and cashflows stay local, but you still need an account and occasional online access for login, license validation, and billing.

Can I move to a new computer?

Yes. Licenses are intended for one computer at a time, but you can transfer the license using a one-time code.
